Artichoke

The artichoke has an apt name, they really are a work of art in and of themselves, not to mention the art that's involved in eating them. Scraping the meat from the inside of spiked leaves, and working your way to the center. They are in a league of their own. They do take up a lot of space so that's always a consideration, they don't fit with the useful "square foot" type garden plan. But if they're space for them, they're great to have.
