Bike Tube w Adjustable D Rings to Secure Glass Food Jars On A Shelf
One of my favorite types of cordage and fasteners is upcycled bicycle inner tube. It basically gives you the ability to create rubber bands and straps at any scale. You can cut tiny strips for small jobs, our use the whole tube as-is for bigger jobs. You can cut thinner strips for less tension, and thicker strips for more tension. They won't last long in direct sunlight, but with adequate shade, they'll last a long time and hold their tension very well.
Here I'm using a length of cut bicycle wheel inner tube to hold in place a rack shelf of glass jars. I want to be to retrieve the jars and put them back in place easily, but I also want them to have some support with adjustable tension. The set of two d-rings on one end give me the ability to adjust the tension on one end where they're anchored by a screw in the lumber.
