Desert Black Widow Under Shade Cloth

I've encountered many black widows over the years and more and more I seem to feel some kind of eerie sense of being able to notice their presence and their distinct style of webs at the last minute before walking or reaching through them. Almost like noticing a trip wire or electrical wire, out of the corner of my eye, at the edge of peripheral vision, I catch the tiny glimpse and freeze, lean back and be amazed that I was able to prevent what could be a very bad day. I hope this reflex continues to serve both myself and the black widow nation well. So far I've been careful to preserve and avoid their webs as much as possible. If I ever have to remove them, I do so very carefully being sure to avoid injuring them.
