Disability Life Hack Adapting Drainage Pipe As Desert Ski Tracks for Sliding Above Hazards

For the two months I couldn't walk or stand, I had diminished upper body strength, but just barely enough to be able to crab walk and drag myself around. I couldn't get far though before I'd almost pass out from exhaustion. I could only make small movements and complete small tasks early in the morning before the sun was above the horizon. When I got up the resolve to take a trip a couple of hundred feet from base camp, I decided to experiment with the idea of creating a sort of sledding or skiing system using drain pipes.

I luckily had exactly four unused 10 foot length drain pipes that I was able to use in tandem to move along the desert sand with no use of my legs. Just by sitting on two of the pipes, then picking up and sliding the other two ahead of me. I could drag myself along the pipes I was sitting on from one end to the other, and by the time I got to the end, I could drag or toss one set up pipes forward and drag myself onto the ones I'd set ahead previously. It wasn't exactly like skiing or sledding but more like moving along a system of tracks, almost like rails. I couldn't slide myself across the sand safely due to biting and stinging insects, rocks, and wasteland debris. But I could sit on and drag myself across the four pipes with this configuration. It worked great, though was painful after a while so I had to only plan one excursion per day. With enough rest and pacing myself I was able to round of critical items that otherwise would have felt like they were half a world away.
