Funnel Hand Pump and Tubing to Prime and Push Out Air Blocking Water from Flowing Through Filters

I've had issues when using water filters in the absence of the recommended kitchen sink water tap to push high-pressure water through the filters to prime them by pushing the air out. Without adequate water pressure to prime the filters, they may not work at all. Since in the type of water filter I'm using, it's all based on gravity. If the air is not pushed out, the gravity of the water in the filter tank may not be enough to push the air out on it's own.

Previously I solved this off-grid problem by using hose-clamps and other adapters to use a 55 gallon drum pump to push water through the filters. That was a bit awkward and finicky. This time however, I've had great luck by just using this simple hand sized pump with a small funnel at the top. I was able to fill the funnel several times with water and use the pump to generate adequate pressure prime the filters. It was a much more simple and elegant strategy and one that I'll continue to use ongoing.
