Hanging Garden Buckets and Jugs System

In my many years of experience doing urban permaculture projects, I've often found that space and access to soil can be very limited. It's great to know that you can still grow a very productive garden by being clever with the use of vertical space. Anywhere you can hang any kind of container and either catch, divert, or allow the water run off to drop in place, the sky is the limit. Some plants do better than others in this type of system, however most edible garden plants tend only need relatively shallow soil to be fully productive, some are even fine with growing sideways as much as down. There are always trade-offs, though if you don't have access to clean and safe soil, hanging gardens are one of your best and most fun alternative options.
