Harvesting Water Lettuce From Above Ground Pool Chinampa Island Water Garden

While water lettuce is not typically treated an edible aquaculture crop, it's very beneficial to the eco-system as it helps to clean and purify water. It provides oxygen to the water as well. My favorite uses of it are to cover the water surface to block mosquito larva and to put into compost pile and worm compost bins.
