Planting Tomato Seedlings In An Upcycled Bathtub
There's no limit to what can be repurposed and upcycled from the waste stream to become a part of a permaculture design. One of the most useful materials that have a lot of potential uses is old used bathtubs. They can be small aquaculture systems, vermiculture worm bins, container gardens filled with soil, the possibilities are endless. They're durable and stable and if you can find them for free you're lucky as they can be expensive to buy even if old and used.
Here I'm planting a tomato seedling and will be connecting a soaker hose irrigation system to it. I used length of thin bamboo fencing to create an ornate finish on the outside, covering the base and providing an aesthetic barrier.
