Predator Hardened Elevated Chicken Shelter

This chicken shelter was adapted by some friends who donated it to the land project I was working on. They acquired this facility maintenance truck shell, prepped it by adding a wire mesh floor and nesting boxes, and brought it over for a build out day. We sited the location on the slope to provide elevation and an accessible area below to collect droppings through the mesh. We used wood poles and pallets to structurally secure the shelter, built a run out of the back with chicken wire and 1x1s. It was a very secure predator proof shelter and was very productive.
