Sun Scorched Sand Protection Paracord Sandals W Bow Tied Rope In A Rubber Sole With 6 Drill Holes
This is the next iteration of my salvaged shoe sole based paracord sandal design. Whereas in previous prototypes I had used several separate lengths of paracord, they would often loosen and/or move out of position. I decided to experiment with using a single approximately 3 foot length of paracord per sandal that would use a simple pattern to secure the toes, the mid-food, and the heal.
It worked well to drill 6 holes in the shoe sole, 2 on either side of the top, middle, and back, then with a series of cross over points it becomes possible to get the sole snug and secured to the foot and finally do a simple shoe lace bow tie knot on the instep.
This simple design allows for the length of paracord for each shoe to remain versatile and useful for other applications, always available to make an emergency sandal if needed without cutting it into smaller pieces.
