Sweet Potato Growing New Vines
There are various methods for propagating tubers like sweet potatoes. They can be dipped in bowl or glass of water and monitored for when they start to sprout vines, at which point you can be confident they'll get well established in the garden. Or you can cut so-called slips or slivers of the potato out around each eye that's growing a small vine. This method turns one potato into a starter of potentially several independent new plants.
