Wild Desert Squirrels

The desert squirrels out here very brave. In the summer heat they'll run quickly from underground burrows to the shade of the many creosote bushes. From one point of safety to the next, evading predators and the sun, they do their thing, which often leads to anything of interest I have at base camp. I've learned my lessons about how persistent they can be to get access to food and water. I've had to over build many things, increase height, security, packaging, etc. to prevent them from getting into things. Glass jars with stainless steel lids, and galvanized metal trash cans, are my salvation.
